Endorse a SIMOPS Permit
Status:
Awaiting Verification (SIMOPS) →
Awaiting Verification
Endorse a permit for simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) so it can move on to verification.
When to use
Use this task only when the permit has SIMOPS selected. After validation, such a permit goes to Awaiting Verification (SIMOPS) for endorsement before the normal verification step.
Before you start — check before launching the task
- You hold the SIMOPS Endorsing Authority role (typical position: SIMOPS Coordinator).
- You understand the simultaneous operations and co-activities around the work.
Step-by-step
- Open the permit in Awaiting Verification (SIMOPS) from your worklist. This task exists only when the SIMOPS checkbox was ticked by the Permit Requester on the request form — a manual checkbox that adds no extra fields at request, but routes the permit here after validation.

- Review the simultaneous operations and co-activities affecting the work.
- Sign Verification by SIMOPS Endorsing Authority. A remark is mandatory. This endorsement must be signed before the Operating Authority and HSE can verify — their Sign buttons stay disabled until then (“Verification by SIMOPS Endorsing Authority signature is required.”, confirmed in UAT).

Expected result
The permit moves from Awaiting Verification (SIMOPS) to Awaiting Verification. The next task is Verify a Permit (Operating Authority & HSE).
Key Referentiel rules
- Simultaneous operations and co-activity risks must be taken into account when coordinating planned work. (CR-GR-HSE-402, Req 3.4.1)
- The risk analysis includes interferences generated by identified simultaneous operations or co-activities. (CR-GR-HSE-402, Req 3.2.1)
Tips & pitfalls
Tip — a remark is required. Record what simultaneous operations were considered.
Pitfall — endorsing without checking nearby activities. SIMOPS endorsement is about interactions between concurrent jobs, not just this permit.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Consequence |
|---|---|
| Endorsing without reviewing concurrent operations | Unmanaged interaction risks between simultaneous jobs |
| Leaving the mandatory remark empty | Signature blocked |
