Live for Test
Return a de-isolated permit to a working state for the test (Live for Test), once the isolations are in their test configuration.
When to use
Use this task when a permit is Suspended for Test (after Suspend a Permit for De-isolation for Test (DFT)) and the test can proceed.
Before you start — check before launching the task
- The attached ICC is in a DFT in Place or Partial DFT in Place state.
- The conditions for the test are confirmed.
Step-by-step
- As Permit Control Authority, sign Re-issue for Test. At least one attached ICC must be in DFT in Place or Partial DFT in Place. (Exact multi-ICC rule — confirm with the ICC module.)
- As Performing Authority, sign Accept revalidation for Test.
- As Operating Authority Representative, sign Re-open for test. The permit becomes Live for Test. Note for later: when you close from a test state, a service-test self-declaration is required (see Close a Permit).
Expected result
The permit is Live for Test; the test can be performed.
Key Referentiel rules
- The safe state for the test is controlled through the isolation rules for powered systems. (CR-GR-HSE-428 / CR-GR-HSE-432)
- Each resumption is a fresh issue, countersigned by the performing authority. (CR-GR-HSE-402, Req 3.5.1)
Tips & pitfalls
Tip — Live for Test is a distinct state. It is not the normal Live; downstream closing asks about the test result.
Pitfall — re-issuing for test without the ICC in a DFT state. The action is blocked until the isolation is in its test configuration.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Consequence |
|---|---|
| Re-issuing for test with the ICC not in a DFT state | Action blocked |
| Treating Live for Test as normal Live | Closing/test-result steps missed |
